Watch Blu-ray (BBrip) movies on Your Netbook

There are so many free video players with their own benefits. I’ve just installed Gom Player on my PC, it comes very close to VLC but the quality of the image is a few steps down. I tested both of them with the same video on the same part of each and the result was always the same: VLC is sharper. VLC Media Player is realy universal player by disabled some plugins will make it a bit faster. However some MKVs with encoded subtitles really cause stumbling. Vlc is extremely universal and plays most everything, I have always thought VLC is the preferred player among 3rd party media player but it plays it in a bit of slow motion. I was also tried km player and it is great and certainly better than VLC.

I have to restrict movie playback on the netbook to bluray rip. I was trying to play some mkv ripped from bluray movie on netbook with the latest VLC player but the picture seem to get stuck within the 1st 2 secs followed by showing blank throughout with the sound running as normal. BRRIP is a higher quality format since it is ripped from Blue Ray discs. The BRRIP is usually 720p in resolution and usually comes with an audio of 5.1 channels. Compare that to 420p of DVDRIP with stereo channel audio. Try to reduce the resolution down to 720p, the bitrate and reduce the complexity of encode to reduce CPU demand on decode…It crashes…:(
Checked on CPU load, it seem the CPU bound, GMA 950 has no H264 native decode. I guess that can’t be helped due to the processing power of the atom. My problem solved by instaled Pot Player. Yeah Pot Player works on my netbook.

If you have used KMPlayer before, you will instantly recognise the similarities between the two. Daum PotPlayer from the same Korean author as The KMPlayer. Daum’s players have their own independent copyright. After KMPlayer sold to pandora.tv, the development has slowed down considerably. The original developer of KMPlayer continued with Pot Player. Compared to KMPlayer, PotPlayer has a more rapid development cycle, with more new features being added now and then. At present day the Pot Player is more than capable to replace MPC-HC for watching such videos. PotPlayer is KMPlayer enhanced, without any of the annoying performance and playback issues I was experiencing with the latter.POTPlayer is from the original author of KMPlayer and has many advantages, it may even be lower on resources than KMPlayer.
