Wait..It is not about black-hat SEO! I talk about Long Tail Keywords. Of course, i am not happy about people who are trying to cheat the system with low quality content that ranks well on their result pages. In Google’s eyes, all those who serve low quality content are providing a bad user experience. Such as black-hat SEO, using methods as these, your website might go lower and lower on the future algorithm updates. Any way, old SEO methods seems do not work well with Google in the future.
The term “Long Tail Keywords” was initially used to describe the niche business strategy that is used by SEO companies. Increase traffic with Long tail keywords is much easy because competition is low. When you add up all of the long tail keywords, which are easier to dominate in the Google SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages), it equals more traffic than if you simply Keyword.
But : how can we make sure all the keyword not scattered away while doing search? I mean, not every internet user want to search by using exact keyword, a typical internet user just search by entering broad keyword.
Sometimes i wonder how many people on the net search the keyword by typing exact keyword phrases, i think most of internet user search the keyword they want in broad search term.
For example, would you rather get traffic from people searching the keyword “golf” or from someone who types this Long Tail Keywords into Google: “Taylor Made R580XD Titanium Driver?” It’s clear, the person who gets more specific with their searches is usually someone who’s ready to buy – someone who knows what they want. The person typing in golf may want to know its history for a project, might want to take a golf vacation, or could be interested in attending a local tournament. That won’t do you any good if your site sells golf clubs, but the long tail phrase will cater to that crowd.
While some marketers shun long tail keywords, believing they have to rank well for the prime keyword phrases, others are using it to reach a demographic that has money in hand.
In my experienced, Long tail Keyword is relatively easier to manage. if you are new or not big site, Long tile Keyword is much better for you. Having a Long tail keywords would bring in traffic much more than just a two words keyword. I personally feel that its just SEOs that target a small keyword. I’ve seen normal users type a full question in Google to search for a solution. When I want to search for a Download Chinese song, I would write in Long Tile Keywords : “Baidu free Download MP3 songs” and then it provides better results.
So i tried to get along with the fun to new google alogarithm.
Make some experiment for targeted keyword : “chinese song”, I make 5 differents post with similiar words combination in long tail keywords:
- L-T Keywords : ‘baidu free download in english’
- L-T Keywords : ‘baidu free mp3 music download‘
- L-T Keywords : ‘how to download chinese songs music mp3 in english’
- L-T Keywords : ‘find chinese music songs and download in english’
- L-T Keywords: ‘free chinese songs from your iphone 4s
(keep in your mind that i have ‘gadget review ‘ and ‘free download‘ in my categories)
About a month, there are some results in google search engine (United States ) for my long tile keywords experiment.
Well, using phrases/ Long Tile Keywords makes it a lot easier to rank for broad search strings as well. Most likely you’ll be ranking for several or a lot of phrases if your content and relevance is optimized.
Pick your keywords and phrases carefully. Separate your broad, generic terms from your long-tail phrases so that you can monitor your Google SERP positioning and see how your keyword list is performing for you.
I don’t think the rank for the long tail keywords would directly affect the broad term. However with you ranking for Long tail keywords, based on your campaign you may see an increase in the SERPs anyway. I would keep going after long tail keywords because they bring in more targeted traffic and you will probably see higher conversions because of this.
I will make experiment with another targeted Keyword in Long Tile Keywords, so what’s the best limit you suggest 4 words? 5 words?
